Halloween Party Plans

Keep your children safe on Halloween by keeping them home.

Not home alone, invite their friends over and have a party.

Halloween parties are easy because the kids are already excited just to be dressed up. Have some old fashion fun at your Halloween Party.  Bob for apples, have a pumpkin carving contest and play pin the nose on the jack-o-lantern. A costume contest is another fun way to get kids to share the joy of their costume. Give lots of prizes, one for the funniest, one for the scariest and one for the craziest.

Keep snacks simple and scary. Serve bat wings (chicken wings) dipped in blood (BBQ sauce), make mummy pizza. Click here for pizza recipe. Monster guts (guacamole dip topped with salsa) served with monster finger nails (also known as Frito's) is always a hit.

No Halloween party  is complete with out candy.  Let the kids create a spooky treat bag.  Buy white gift bags with handles cut out various shaped eyes and mouths out of black paper and let the kids glue on their own ghost face.  Then fill the bags to the brim with candy!

Don't forget a special cake to top off the evening.Whether creepy, scary or silly Ontario Bakery in California has the right Halloween cake for you.  Always moist, delicious, delivered on time, and designed to go with your theme. You can reach Ontario Bakery  at (909) 984-4919 or http://www.ontario-bakery.com/. They are located at 1010 N. Mountain Ave., Ontario, California 91762.

Is It A Boy Or Girl?

And The Winner Is....

Cake By Ontario Bakery In California
Due to modern medicine, including ultrasounds and blood tests, finding out the sex of your unborn child is topped only by learning you are pregnant, and hearing the heartbeat.  Is it a boy or girl, is one of the most frequently asked questions of a pregnant woman.  Family, friends and complete strangers want to know.  As soon as you have the answer, the nursery decorating and painting begin, names are discussed, and gifts are purchased. Once the doctor knows the information, the question is how do you want to learn the answer, and how will you share it. How about a Gender Reveal Party? When you are pregnant there is always a reason to celebrate.

Who should be the first to know the gender?  Your local baker of course!  Have the doctor seal the answer in an envelope, then off to the bakery. They can make a cake with pink or blue frosting inside.  Have cakes delivered to out of town family and friends, as well as to your Gender Revealing Party.  When the cake is cut everyone will know the gender. The same idea can be done with cake pops and the cake inside is blue or pink.  How about cupcakes with blue or pink cake?

Rustic Weddings...Simply Elegant

Were You Born In A Barn?  How about Getting Married in One?
example2The trend of having a rustic wedding is becoming quite vogue.  From farm houses and barns, to cabins and ranch chapels, a rustic wedding is simply elegant.  They are chic, warm, inviting and reasonably priced.  So, if you love the outdoors and the idea of a ritzy wedding makes you feel claustrophobic, it is time to think outside of the box and get married in a place you truly enjoy.

In autumn the county theme is easy to design with harvest colors, candle light and natural fibers.  For the crafty bride, so many of the decorations can be done by the bridal party.  Decorating can be fun and easy like centerpieces of dried flowers, that can be done in advance, and then gifted to guests. How about personalizing small mason jars as favors?  Fill the jars with jam, nuts or candy. Candles give off a soft glow that generates a warm look for the event.  Make a candle holder with a large mason jar. Wrap it with a scrap of burlap and tied with a ribbon matching the bridesmaid’s dresses.

example2Of course your wedding cake is the focal point. Ontario Bakery in California specializes in personalizing a wedding cake that highlights your flair and line up with the character of your wedding. Here are just a few samples of wedding cakes by Ontario Bakery that are elegant, fitting to a rustic theme and taste amazing!

His and Hers Wedding Cakes

Groom's Cakes  Make A Huge Comeback

example2
Groom's cake for the sports fan.
Weddings are all about the bride and most grooms have just come to except it.  Ladies how about allowing your groom a sweet little piece of the action.  A groom's cake gives him the opportunity to add a bit of his personality to the event. It is traditionally a gift from the bride to the groom.  The groom's cake is a great way to let him know he is important, and his style is a part of the big day too.

According to Wikipedia, "In the United States, a groom's cake is a wedding tradition typically associated with the American South. While a wedding cake may often be decorated in white and light in texture or color, the groom's cake can take a variety of forms, many incorporating chocolate or fruit. Cheesecake sometimes serves as a groom's cake. The groom's cake is often served at a table separate from the wedding cake at a wedding reception, though it may be served as a dessert for a rehearsal dinner.

Groom's Cake
In the southern part of the United States, the groom's cake is used for the bride to incorporate the groom into the wedding more instead of his feeling like merely an ornament within the ceremony. For example, the bride might ask the groom what type of cake he would like, and his response might be a chocolate cake shaped like a football or a chocolate cake shaped like a baseball stadium. The groom's cake can take many different shapes, which is one of the reasons why it has become very popular with the groom. The wedding cake is the main focus of the conversation during the reception, but lately a second cake has appeared next to the wedding cake: the groom’s cake."

Make Football Season Fun

Are You Ready For Some Football...Cake Pops?

The NFL season has started. For some women that feels like you have lost your husband on Sunday and Monday till some time in January. Football will happen no matter if you like it or not, so you might as well jump in and find a way to enjoy it.  Invite a few friends over for Sunday afternoon and plan a fun "tail-gate" party at home.  The key is to make it easy for yourself and create a fun hype about your team.  Well... really your husbands team.

Try and keep your prep simple as the guys are not looking for anything fancy.  Grab grab some chips, dip and candy for snacks.  Have dogs and burgers for dinner.  Then let the guys cook them at half time while the ladies keep cool inside.  Last, drop a few drinks in the cooler.

Now here is where the fun comes in...the decorating and dessert.  Score NFL Team party supplies as well as generic football party supplies at Party City.  With just one stop you can grab a table cloth and the paper goods, and you have made a winning look.  Add a special dessert and touchdown! Your party has a fun football atmosphere.  Ontario Bakery in California can create a cake featuring your favorite team or football theme. Or how about football cake pops? Cute, bite sized and fun to eat!

The time has come for you to have a seat in front of the big screen and enjoy the game, or head in to the kitchen, for a chat with the ladies about how you love football season.

Seven Tips to Make Halloween Easy and Fun For Families

Create Some Scary Family Fun For Halloween

School has started and for those of us who like to get a jump on things we are starting to think about Halloween. I can enjoy the holiday if I get some of the planning out of the way early. I love decorating my home for holidays no matter if I am having a party or not.  My kids love to celebrate each holiday and as they get older want to be a bigger part of decorating for it.  Here are 7 quick tips to make your Halloween fun, easy and exciting for kids, without spending a ton of time or money.
1.  Keep it simple.  Choose three or four key areas to decorate. For example the kitchen table, the porch and the coffee table. Add a bit of extra fun by placing cobwebs and bats around the family room.
2.  Make your Halloween decorations last through Thanksgiving.  Mix  pumpkins, harvest leaves, gourds and fall flowers with your spiders, bats, jack-o-lanterns and ghosts.

3. Decorating is a family event.  Make a few age appropriate crafts to engage the kids like pipe cleaner spiders, tissue roll owls ( these can be kept for harvest decorating) or paper plate black cats. The kids enjoy making the crafts. It is a great way to bond with kids of all ages.

4. Don't forget the porch.  Get double duty from your harvest wreath by adding a black bow, a few spiders and cobwebs which you can remove later.  This is a fun fabulous touch for your porch.

5. Change the porch light bulb to black or purple and create an eerie look for trick or treaters.
Crescent Mummy Dogs
6. Create fun foods all month long. Children love a long celebration.  Get creative makings candy apples as a family.  You can also decorate tortillas with Cheddar cheese and black olives to make jack-o-lanterns. One of my families favorites is make mummy dogs by wrapping hot dogs in bread stick dough from the refrigerator sections and using mustard dots for eyes.

7. Make a cake your focal point for your table.  Ontario Bakery in California is now taking orders for custom Halloween cakes.  How about an adorable pumpkin theme cake with cinnamon apple filling or order a spooky cake like the Night Before Christmas cake that is pictured. Also available is a creepy vampire cake with raspberry filling. Special treats like these are sure to create quite a buzz with the friends and family.
